It Takes Hard Work to Make It Look Easy

February 13. On this day in 1976, skater Dorothy Hamill won the Olympic figure-skating gold medal in Innsbruck, Austria. The young girl with the signature wedge hairstyle went on to become on of the most popular figure skater of her generation. Like all great skaters, Hamill made her routines look effortless. She observed, “That’s what skating is all about: trying to make it look as though it flows.”
