Never Stop Growing

Posted by Criswell Freeman on

On this day in 1948, the American musician James Taylor was born in Boston, MA.  With memorable melodies and haunting lyrics, Taylor burst upon the music scene in the early nineteen seventies; he became one of the most popular singers of his generation. His composition “Fire and Rain” was named one of the top 100 songs of the 20th century by the Recording Industry Association of America and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Taylor spoke for performers and non-performers alike when he observed, “I would hope that my work would reflect a growing maturity — if not as a songwriter or artist — as a human being.”
